Kim Schoen is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with additional board certification in primary care. She obtained her nurse practitioner degree from UCSF School of Nursing. She has over 25 years of clinical experience in outpatient settings as a diagnostician, prescriber and therapist. She has experience in psychotherapy/counseling with individuals, families and groups-theoretical foundations include crisis intervention, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral health models.
As a community health systems professor at UCSF in Nursing, Kim currently volunteers and supervises psychiatric nurse practitioner students in her work at a San Francisco Community Health Clinics with both children and adults.
When not practicing psychiatry she is a wife and mother of three children.
