Katy is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and recently moved to the Bay Area from New York City. She received her master’s degree from New York University and worked in an outpatient setting in Manhattan treating adults, teenagers and children. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner she worked as a psychiatric nurse on an inpatient unit NYU Langone Medical Center for eight years.
Katy’s approach to treatment involves combining evidence-based psychopharmacology with a systemic and psychodynamic therapeutic approach. Her goal is to help clients gain a better understanding of themselves and their lives through a therapeutic lens, with components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to enhance their therapeutic experience. Her areas of clinical interest include depression, anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She works with individuals, couples and families.
Outside of work, Katy enjoys spending time with her husband and young son. She has been taking advantage of the warm California weather by hiking and going to the beach.
